President
Leah Ferguson
Olympian in wrestling and two-time Canada Games coach with Newfoundland, Leah holds a Master’s in Business and brings 15+ years of experience in nonprofit management. She currently works with Canadian Women & Sport and has a background in Indigenous sport development.
Director Partnerships
Peter Petipas
With an Executive MBA and 20+ years in Newfoundland wrestling, Peter is a multiple-time Canada Games coach and longtime development coach. A former Memorial University wrestler, he has also contributed over a decade of service at the board level.
Secretary & Treasurer
Ryan Nichols
A Memorial University wrestling alumni and dedicated physical education teacher (MPE), Ryan has served on the board for over 10 years, including a term as President. He has coached at several levels and at multiple Canada Games cycles in various roles.
VP Technical
Eddie Penny, VP Technical
A teacher and multi-sport coach, Eddie has been involved in the past two Canada Games cycles. He brings a strong connection to school-based sport and represents the community coach perspective on the board.
Vice President of Administration
Maura Martina
A former varsity wrestler from the University of Winnipeg and originally from Stephenville, NL. Maura brings a background in project management, policy, Indigenous relations, Indigenous sport, and program development.
Administrative Support
Hunter Leard
A university wrestler, Hunter supports the organization in a part-time administrative role. He is committed to strengthening and growing wrestling in Newfoundland.
